I will be carrying out a tenth grade English lesson based on Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird; a fictional novel set against the backdrop of The Great Depression in the United States of America. During the lesson, students will be asked to lead, participate in, and reflect upon small and large group discussion based on the novel by itself and in coalition with The Great Depression. Students will be assessed on their understanding of the major events in the novel, the importance of the characters, and the novel's connection with The Great Depression; through cooperative learning, students will create a Prezi that demonstrates their understanding.
